AN ORDINANCE
SETTING A TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE .PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF ONE
CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING. D,/
ACRES BY THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, T S, AidD
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTIDtG TIIN CITY SECRETARY
TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING.
WHEREAS, the following described tract of land adjoin-
ing the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and does
not exceed one (1) mile in width; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas, is of the opinion that such territory is suitable and
desirable for municipal purposes and that it is in the best
interest of the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and
inhabitants thereof that said tract of land be annexed to and
made a part of said City; and
b~IHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas intends to annex
said"land by "ordinance and in compliance with the MUNICIPAL
.ANNEXATION ACT (Chapter 1~0 Acts of the 58th Legislature, Reo-
ular Session, 1953, as amended), cod if ied as Article 970a,
Te:cas Revised Civil .Statutes, at a scheduled public hearing
as hereinafter provided in order to furnish an opportunity
for all interested citizens:to.~be heard on such proposed annex-
ation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCIi-ERTZ, TEXAS:

That the-City Council will hold a public hearing
on the day of , 197+ at -'ICJ o'clock ~ M.
in the Municipal Buil ing of the City of Schertz, Texas in order
to furnish all interested persons a right to appear and be
heard on the proposed annexation of the following described
tract of land , t o-wit
Field notes for 80.183 acres out of Guadalupe County, Texas..
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the south line of
Interstate Highway 35 and the east line of Schmidt Road in
Guadalupe County;
THENCE: crossing Interstate Highway 35 North 33° 56' 00" W
310 feet to a point on the north line of Interstate
Highway 35
THENCE: with the north right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway 35 N 45° 04' 00" E 194.90 feet and N 45°
55' 00" E 306,43 feet;
THENCE: leaving the north right-of-way line of Interstate
Highway 35 S31° 00' 00" E 2,945.62 feet to a corner;
THENCE: N 60° 30' 00" E 3,547.65 feet to a corner;
THENCE: S 29° 30' 00" E 500.00 feet to a point on the north' '
line of .Schmidt Road;
THENCE: with the north line of Schmidt Road S 60° 30' 00"
W 4,047.82 feet to an angle in Schmidt Road;
THENCE: with the east line of Schmidt Road N 31° 00' 00" W

The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
toto cause notice of such public notice to be published once a
week in a newspaper having a general circulation in the City
of Schertz, Texas and in the territory proposed to be annexed
not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days
prior to the date of such public hearing.

0n this, the 4th day of June, 1974, at 7:00 o'clock
P.M., the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, con-
. vened at a regular meeting at the regular meeting place in
the Municipal Building in the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant
to due call and notice to all of the members of said City
Council, which meeting was .at .a 11 times open to the public,
and at which meeting the following members were present, to-wit:

ROBERT E. SCHGIARTZ ALDERMAN
DONA LD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN
MRS. BOBBIE L. KOCH ALDERWOMAN

DENNY ARNOLD CITY MANAGER
There being a quorum present, the meeting was called
to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were
the following:
-The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ord-
inance, which has been read and considered at the last regular
meeting of the City Council on the 21st day of May, 1974, It
was determined that the City Secretary .had caused a short
synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the
off icial City newspaper after its consideration at the last
regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further
considered by the Counci L
Thereupon it was moved by Councilman
and seconded by Councilman U
that said ordinance be finally passed and
adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members
of-the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and
adopted by the following vote:
AYES: All councilmen present voted "AYL"
NOES: None
The Mayor declared the ordinance finally passed and
adopted; and said ordinance as passed and adopted by the City
