AN ORDINANCE
SETTING A TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF ONE
CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING '7 J'~ ~Ty~
ACRES OUT OF GUADALUPE COUNTY, TEXAS BY
THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH
NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING

WHEREAS, the following described tract of land adjoining
the corporate limits of the city of Schertz, Texas and does not
exceed one (1) mile in width; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas
is of the opinion that such territory is suitable and desirable
for municipal purposes and that it is in the best interest of
the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and inhabitants
thereof that said tract of land be annexed to and made a part
of said City; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas intends to annex
said land by ordinance and in compliance with the MUNICIPAL
ANNEXATION ACT (Chapter 160 ACTS of the 58th Legislature, Reg-
ular Session, 1963, as amended), codified as Article 970a,
Texas Revised Civil Statutes, at a scheduled public hearing
as hereinafter provided in order to furnish an opportunity for
all interested citizens to be heard on such proposed annexation;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
I
That the City Council will hold a public hearing on

P.M. in the Municipal Building of the City of Schertz, Texas in
order to furnish all interested persons a right to appear and be
heard on the proposed annexation of the following described
tracts of land, to-wit:

Village Subdivision, and the southwest corner of the tract
herein described and which point lies in the City limits
line of the City of Schertz,
THENCE, in a northwesterly direction following the east
right-of-way line of FM 1518 approximately 1450 " to a point,
the northwest corner of the George Gesche 169.7 acre tract
being the division line of the G. Malpaz Survey 67 and the
T. Herrera Survey No. 68;
THENCE N 60° E 2800' with the division line of the G. Malpza
Survey 67 and the T. Herrera Survey No. 68 to a point in the
City limits line of the City of Schertz;
THENCE S 300 13' E 875 feet along the City limits line of the
City of Schertz to a point;
THENCE S 59° 46' W 4.36 feet to a point;
THENCE 93.70 feet in a southwesterly direction along the arc
of said curve to the point-of-tangency;
THENCE in a northeast to southeast direction along the arc
of said curve to the point-of-reverse curvature of a curve
whose radius point bears south 420,'.16'•::55" East 445.00 feet
and whose interior angle is 12° 03' 51";
THENCE N 300 13' 04" W 15.75 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE S 59° 46' 56" W 140.47 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE N 300 13' 04" E 20.50 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE S 59° 46' 56" E 1160.47 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE N 30° 13' 04" W 1.15 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE S 59° 46' 56" E 131.37 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE S 300 15' 08" E 527.45 feet to a point-for-corner;
THENCE S 60° Ol' 35" E 1332.23 feet to the point-of-beginning
and containing 71.046 acres:.more or less.
WHEREAS, said territory is adjoining the City of Schertz.

The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed
to cause notice of such public hearing to be published once a
week in a newspaper having a general circulation in the City
of Schertz, Texas and in the territory proposed to be annexed
not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days
prior to the date of such public hearing,

On this, the 19th day of November, 1974, at 7:00 o'clock
P.M., the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened
at a regular meeting at the regular meeting place in the Muni-
cipal Building in the City of ~S~.ertz, Texas, pursuant to due
call and notice to all of the members of said City Council,
which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which
meeting the following members were present, to-wit:

MRS. NELL G. FUNK ALDERWOMAN
DONALD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN
TOM KOe?LE ALDERMAN
ROBERT E. SCHWARTZ ALDERMAN
MRS. BOBBIE L. KOCH ALDERMAN
AND
MRS. JUNE G. KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY
DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER
There being a quorum present, the meeting was called
to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were
the following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ord-
finance, which has been read and considered at the last regular
meeting of the City Council on the 5th day of November, 1974.
It was determined that the City Secretary had caused a short
synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the
official City newspaper after its consideration at the last
regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further
considered by the Council.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember
and seconded by Councilmember ~ that said
ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion
to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was
finally passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: A11 Councilmembers present voted "AYE".
