74A50-Annexation of 71.046 acres ORDINANCE NO . / ~9' 'rT!'~ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BY THE ANNEXATION OF ONE (1) CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONTAINING 71.046 ACRES OUT OF GUADA- LUPE COUNTY, TEXAS n iY i. n n n i~ i. n i~C iC iC is iC iC i. iC n iC i~C i~C i~C n iC iC iC iC is iC n i~C iCll WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tracts of land ad- join'the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and do not exceed one (1) mile in width; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the question of whether said land should be annexed to and become a part of the City of Schertz, Texas was duly called and notice thereof given and said public hearing has been had, all in accordance with law; and WHEREAS, by the passage of this ordinance annexation of said territory will have been brought to completion within ninety (90) days of the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas is of the opinion and finds that such territory is suitable for municipal purposes and that it is in the best interest of the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and inhabitants thereof that said territory be annexed to and made a part of said City; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: I That the following described territory containing 71.046 acres of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Schertz, Texas be, and the same is hereby added and annexed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said territory shall herein- after be included within the boundary limits of said City and the various points contiguous to the area described are hereby altered and amended so as to include said land and territory within the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas; said y 7 1. • • • 7 7 Y • 7_ 7 7 • 1 7 7 11 That the following described territory containing 71.046 acres of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Schertz, Texas be, and the same is hereby added and annexed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said territory shall herein- after be included within the boundary limits of the City and the various points contiguous to the area described are hereby altered and amended so as to include said land and territory within the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas:; said land being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point, the northwest corner of Bavarian Village Subdivision, and the southwest corner of the tract herein described and which point lies in the City limits line of the City of Schertz, THENCE, in a northwesterly direction following the east right-of-way line of FM 1518 approximately 1450' to a point, the northwest corner of the George Gesche 169.7 acre tract being the division line of the G. Malpaz Survey 67 and the T. Herrera Survey No. 68; THENCE N 60° E 2800' with the division line of the G. Malpza Sulwey 67 and the T. Hexrer_a Survey No. 68 to a point in the City limits line of the City of Schertz; THENCE S 300 13' E 875 feet along the City limits line of the City of Schertz to a point; THENCE S 59° 46' W 4.36 feet to a point; THENCE 93.70 feet in a southwesterly direction along the arc of said curve to the point-of-tangency; THENCE in a northeast to southeast direction along the arc of said curve to the point-of-reverse curvature of a curve whose radius point bears south 420 16'..55" East 445.00 feet and whose interior angle is 12° 03' 51"; THENCE N 30° 13' 04" W 15.75 feet to a point-for-corner;. TII?~~?CE S 59° 46' 56" W 140.47 feet to a point-for-corner; THENCE N 300 13' 04" E 20.50 feet to a point-for-corner; THENCE S 59° 46' 56" E 1160.47 feet to a point-for-corner; THENCE N 30° 13' 04" W 1.15 feet to a point-for-corner; THENCE S 59° 46' 56" E 131.37 feet to a point-for-corner; THENCE S 30° 15' 08" E 527.45 feet to a point-for-corner; III That the territory so described and the areas so annexed shall hereafter be a part of the City of Schertz, Texas and all taxable property situated therein shall here- after bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City of Schertz, Texas and the inhabitants 'thereof shall be en- titled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Schertz, Texas. BUSKER MAYOR MRS. NELL G. FUNK ALDERWOMAN DONALD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN TOM KOOLE ALDERMAN ROBERT E. SCHWARTZ ALDERMAN MRS. BOBBIE L. KOCH ALDERWOMAN AND MRS. JUNE G. KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance which has been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City Council on the 3rd day of December, 1974. It was determined that the City Secretary had caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the official City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting. Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further considered by the Council. Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember and seconded by Councilmember~~,~~ / that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: A11 Councilmembers present voted "AYE".
