75A34-Annexation of 13.20 acres ORDINANCE N0. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BY THE ANNEXATION OF ONE CERTAIN TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND CONTAINING 13.20 ACRES OUT OF GUADALUPE COUNTY. WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tract of land adjoins the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and does not exceed one (1) mile in width; and WHEREAS, a public hearing on the question of whether said land should be annexed to and become a part of the City of Schertz, Texas was duly called and notice thereof given and said public hearing has been had, all in accordance with law; and WHEREAS, by the passage of this ordinance annexation of said territory will have been brought to completion within ninety (90) days of the institution of annexation proceedings; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas is of the opinion and finds that such territory is suitable for municipal pur- poses and that it is in the best interest of the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and inhabitants thereof that said territory be annexed to and made a part of said City; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: I That the following described territory containing 13.20 acres of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Schertz, Texas be, and the same is hereby added and annexed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said territory shall hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of said City and the various points contiguous to the area described are here- by altered and amended so as to include said land and territory within the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas; said land being more parti- cularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at an iron pin set S 28 degrees 50' E 200 feet from the Southern line of F. M. 78 in the Southwesterly line of the Ewald Pfeil Subdivision No. 2; THENCE S 61 degrees 09' W 520 feet to the point of beginning; THENCE in a southwesterly direction in a straight line along the south city limits of the City of Schertz"to a point being the inter- section point of the northeast boundry line of Mill Street and the southeast boundry line of Lee Street, approximately 1,150 feet; THENCE S 30 degrees E 500 feet to a point; THENCE N 62 degrees E approximately 1,150 feet to a point in the existing city limits; THENCE N 28 degrees 51' lJ approximately 500 feet to the point of be- ginning and containing 13.20 acres. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ G1~^ C~. BUEKER MAYOR NELL G. FUNK COUNCILWOMAN DONALD J. SEEBA COUNCILMAN WALTER F. SCHNEIDER COUNCILMAN ED L. SHARPE COUNCILMAN GAIL HYATT COUNCILWOMAN AND JUNE G. KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY DENPdY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance, which has been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City Council on the 7th day of October, 1975. It was determined that the City Secretary had caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the official City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting. Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further considered by the Council. Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember ;~oo~ and seconded by Councilmember that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: NAYS: THE STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTY OF GUADALUPE ~ CITY OF SCHERTZ ~ On this, the 7th day of October, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meet- ing at the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building of said City in the City of Schertz, Texas, which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meeting the following members were present, to-wit: ROBERT C.
