ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION
May 31, 1972
A meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission was called to order
at 7:30 PM by Mr. Weldon Willbanks, Chairman. Members present were Mr.
Johnnie Wise, Mr. Richard Mansfield, and Mr. Charles Peifer. Absent were
Mr. Harry Decker and Mr. Charles Sharp.
The following business was enacted upon:
1. Mr. Mansfield made a motion to recommend to the City Council the accept-
ance of the preliminary plan for a mobile home complex known as Meadowbrook
(presented by Mr. Ren Bice) with the resultant rezoning of the area presently
R-1 to mobile home zoning and commercial, and annexation of the area to the
City of Schertz. The motion was seconded by Mr. Wise and passed by members
present. (Attachment ~~l)
2. Mr. Mansfield made the following motions, a. Recommend to the City
.Council that Section 5, paragraph 5-11 and 5-12 be amended to allow Suburban
Subdivision development within the City bimits. Such development plans to be
submitted to the City Planning Commission for review and final approval by
the City Council.
. b. Recommend to the City Council that a variance be granted to allow Deer
Haven Subdivision Unit ~3 to be designated a Suburban Subdivision. This action
will maintain continuity of development of Deer Haven Sections 1 and 2 which were
completed prior to annexation by the City of Schertz.
The following schedule of Minimum Street Improvements for Minor Streets as
contained on page 17 of the Subdivision Ordinance, Schertz, Texas would then apply:
Classification: Right-of-way Pavement Standard Drainage Standard
Minor Street 50' 20' Ditch and Culvert
All specifications and Design standards for Public Works Improvements as
contained in Exhibit A to Subdivision Ordinances would apply, Motion was seconded
by Mr. Pfeifer and passed by members present.
3. Mr. Wise made a motion to recommend to the City Council the Mr. Aaron Beck
be given approval to deed two lots to his son. The motion was seconded by Mr.
Mansfield and passed by members present.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM.
