09-10-1974l~l SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 10, 1974 The Schertz City Council convened in Special Session, Tuesday, September 10, 1974 at 7:05 P.M, in the Council Chambers, 608 Live Oak Road, with the following members present: Mayor Robert C. Bueker, presiding; Mrs. Funk, Mr. Seeba, Mr.Schwartz and Mrs. Koch. Absent: Mr. Koole. Also presents City Mana- ger Denny Arnold and City Secretary June Krause. ~~1 INSURANCE BIDS: Bids were opened and tabulated as follows on various City insurance needs: Insurance Agent Total Net Premium Len Boyd dba Fred Blair Ins. $8930.00 Jim Brewer Insurance $8915.00 Schertz Ins. X8495.00 Koebig Insurance $8400.52 Mr. Arnold explained the bids will be thoroughly checked and reviewed by City staff and his recommendations will be brought before the Council at its next meeting. ~~2 POLICE RESERVE: Council studied and reviewed the resume of Robert L. Ruedrich. Mr. Seeba moved to approve the appointment of Robert L. rt~i" Ruedrich to the City's Police Reserve Force. Mrs. Koch )'~"` seconded the motion which carried with the following vote: AYES: Mrs. Funk, Mr: Seeba, Mr. Schwartz and Mrs. Koch. NAYS: None ~~3 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Mr. Larry Burnside, Ad- misistrative Assistant, gave a slide presentation on his recent Dallas conference of the National League of Cities pertaining to the City's upcoming Community Development Act Project. Mayor Bueker introduced Mr. Haave, Mr. Willman and Mr. Schneider, members of the 1974 Board of Equalization, who gave a report of their meetings and presented their recommendations to the City Council. Mr. Arnold briefed the Council on a verbal proposal he made to Mr. Bo Graves, Bernard Johnson Engineers, Inc., based on data received from City Engineer Howard Gaddis and Financial Advisor Tom Anderlitch, concerning a pro- posed 12" water line on 135 for the proposed subdivision by Homecraft, Inc. ~~4 BUDGET REVIEW: Council had their final review of the 1974-75 Budget prior to adoption. Mrs. Koch left the meeting at 11:31 P.M.
