2005T42-BUDGET06 ORDINANCE NO. 05-T-42 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2005 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2006, BY APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR SAID PERIOD AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS OUT OF THE GENERAL AND OTHER REVENUES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, FOR SAID YEAR FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS AND FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, as required by the General Laws of the State of Texas and the City Charter, the budget has been prepared and submitted to the City Council with estimates of expenditures and revenues of all City Departments and activities for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2005 and Ending September 30, 2006. WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing upon said budget has been duly and legally published; and WHEREAS, said public hearing has been held and full and final consideration given said budget; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: SECTION 1. THAT for the purpose of providing the funds necessary and proposed to be expended in the budget for said City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2005 and ending September 30, 2006, the budget was prepared and submitted to the City Council for its consideration and approval and that said budget in the total amount of $ 26,450.067 and the same is hereby appropriated for the maintenance as set forth in said budget. SECTION 2. THAT the said budget of the City of Schertz, Texas, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2005 and ending September 30, 2006, an exact copy of which is marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof for all purposes the same as if it were copied in full herein, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council for fiscal year 2005-2006. SECTION 3. THAT this Ordinance approving and adopting a budget for the twelve-month period hereinabove specified is made in all things in accordance with the terms and provisions of the General laws of the State of Texas and the City Charter. SECTION 4. THAT the Council hereby determined that an emergency exists requiring immediate action, and this Ordinance is hereby passed as an emergency measure to be effective immediately upon its passage and the enactment of this Ordinance as an emergency measure in accordance with the provisions of Section 4.09 (e) of the City's Home Rule Charter will contribute to the preservation of the public peace, health, or safety.
