AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS PROVIDING THAT CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
BE AMENDED BY REVISING ARTICLE IV, SPEED
REGULATIONS, SECTION 18-75, MAXIMUM LIMITS
IN SCHOOL ZONES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE,AND A REPEALING CLAUSE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:

THAT Section Section 18 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Schertz, Texas be amended by revising Section 18-75 to read
as follows:
"Section 18-75 Maximum limit in school zones.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any motor
vehicle at a rate of speed in excess of that which is posted within
a school speed zone, the limits of which shall be designated by school
speed limit signs, on any day of any regular or any special or summer
school term. Those designations are between the hours of 7:00 a.m.
and 9:00 a.m. and between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. with
the exception of an area of Randolph Blvd. where the afternoon hours
are between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It shall also be unlawful for
any person to drive or operate any motor vehicle at a rate of speed
in e2Cess of that whi ch is posted duri ng the hours when the 1 i ghts are
flashing."

THAT this Ordinance shall be effective from and after its
final passage and any publication required by the City Charter.
III
THAT all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
