2010R65 - LCRA Transmission Line ProjectRESOLUTION NO. 10-R-65 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, RECOMMENDING A PREFERRED ROUTE FOR THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY'S TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT IN THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AND OTHER MATTERS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH WHEREAS, the Lower Colorado River Authority Transmission Services Corporation (LCRA TSC) is currently seeking public comments related to its proposed transmission line connecting the proposed E.C. Mornhinweg Station to LCRA TSC's existing Parkway Station; and WHEREAS, the City of Schertz (the "City") is currently undergoing a land repositioning study to strengthen land and economic development opportunities along properties north and west of Interstate 35; and WHEREAS, many of the LCRA TSC's proposed route segments would intersect the land area currently being considered for significant land and economic development opportunities; and WHEREAS, the City believes the placement of new transmission lines in the study area would limit the land and economic development opportunities and recommends a line route that utilizes existing Right-of--Way in order to accommodate the proposed transmission line. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: SECTION I. The City's recommended route are segments A, C, M, N, S, C1, G1, El, D 1, H 1, N 1, M 1, and L 1 as indicated on the LCRA's preliminary alternative route segments provided to land owners as part of the public hearing process. SECTION II. The existing right of way should accommodate poles that will allow for additional future capacity (i.e. six lines) This resolution shall be effective October 12, 2010. APPROVED this 12th day of October, 2010. __ ~-- ayor t: ,~~nl ---~ "~.r 1f1 MA /A~ nn n..~a r~ Brenda Dennis, TRMC, CMC City Secretary "o z~ i~ z ~°, ~O W~ Z$ZZ'Wj ~~ ~~ a ~' i Q H : I r Z t ~ O V ~ U ~.. ~r f t c 0 . ~ ~ I c .o ~ c ~ J u!
