AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING THE PECAN
DRIVE REINVESTMENT ZONE
WHEREAS, the Texas Property Tax Code, Section 312, allows
the creation of Reinvestment Zones; and,
WHEREAS, the property described, to be known as the Pecan
Street Reinvestment Zone, at 113 Pecan DRIVE, is recorded in
Volume 2, page 142, Guadalupe County Map Records on 24 April,
1991, and is currently zoned for General Business; and,
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the City Council that by
establishing Pecan Drive Reinvestment Zone, it is reasonably
likely to contribute to the retention or expansion of primary
employment or to attract major investment in the zone that would
benefit the property and would contribute to the economic
development of the property; and
WHEREAS, it has been the stated policy of this Council to
support and promote the economic development of this community;
and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held to hear comments from
the citizens on 21 July, 1992; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council

Notice of a Public Hearing
The City of Schertz will hold a public hearing on July 21st,
1992, at 7:00 p.m. in the Schertz Municipal Complex. The
purpose of the public hearing is to receive citizen comments
on the proposed Pecan Drive Reinvestment Zone. This zone will
be created to support a tax abatement request by Mr. Rex
Bornmann of CFTI Hardwood Products Inc., 124 Pecan Drive,
Schertz, Texas.
