A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, SUPPORTING
PASSAGE OF A QUALITY OF LIFE BOND TO FINANCE ADDITIONAL
RECREATIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE CITIZENS OF SCHERTZ.
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the City of Schertz to provide services that cannot be
readily obtained individually; and
WHEREAS, it is the mission of the employees of the City to provide services in the
area of recreation: and
WHEREAS. the citizens of Schertz have expressed their desire for more recreational
facilities through individual contact and through community forum input; and
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz is financially in a position to fund additional
recreational facilities through the issuance of bonds.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT, the City Council is receptive to the expressed needs and desires of the citizens of
Schertz for more facilities and expanded programs in the area of recreation; and
THAT the City Council recognizes the financial feasibility of providing recreational
facilities through the issuance of bonds; and
THAT the City Council unequivocally is committed to supporting the passage of a bond
through an election in Sept. 2003 to finance additional recreational facilities for the
Citizens of Schertz.
THAT, this Resolution shall be in force and effect from and after its final passage, and it
is so resolved.
