A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, CALLING FOR
COOPERATION AND A COMMITMENT TO ESTABLISH A TWO- (2) YEAR
COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN THE NORTHEAST AREA OF BEXAR COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz desires to have a college facility in our
area; and,
WHEREAS, efforts have been underway for several years, and the
communities continue to pay ACeD tax; and,
WHEREAS, the northeast area is in dire need of a higher educational
facility, as this area has outgrown facilities available in the rapidly growing
area; and,
WHEREAS, cities in this area are currently working with the Randolph
Metrocom Chamber of Commerce and the Northeast Partnership, in
efforts to locate suitable acreage/site to locate the facility.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas:
THAT, the governing body of the City of Schertz hereby adopts a
resolution calling for a commitment to establish a community college in the
northeast area of Bexar County.
