1997R03- STRONGLING OPPOSING HOUSE BILL 2333 RESOLUTION NO. tf7-/!-- :3 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, STRONGLY OPPOSING HOUSE BILL 2333 WHICH PROPOSES TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF WASTE WATER TREATMENT INSPECTION FEES. WHEREAS, maximum amount and House Bill 2333 proposes to increase the of waste water treatment inspection fees; WHEREAS, House Bill 2333 proposes to broaden and increase the authority of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission to increase fees imposed on public drinking water systems; and WHEREAS, such unrealistic fees and charges not only become an unnecessary burden on the rate payers of municipal water and waste water treatment systems but also become regressive to customers and system operators; and WHEREAS, such fees customers of such public disguised as local fees; and charges do not systems and are benefit the State taxes NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: THAT, the City Council of the City of Schertz hereby expresses its strong opposition and encouragement to the members of the 75th Legislature to defeat this and similar proposed legislation.
