A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, OBJECTING STRONGLY TO HOUSE BILL 1802 AND
ALL OTHER SUCH LEGISLATION WHICH USES THE POWER
OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT TO FORCE LOCAL RATE AND
TAXPAYERS TO FUND PROGRAMS, AGENCIES AND
DEPARTMENTS THROUGH SUCH HIDDEN TAXES AND FEES.
WHEREAS,
each supplier

WHEREAS, the City of Schertz represents 7619
residential water accounts who do not desire to pay
additional charges for monthly water service to fund State
departments and agencies;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT, members of the State Legislature be advised and
informed the City of Schertz strongly objects to and urges
the rejection of House Bill 1802 and all other such
legislation which uses the power of the State government to
force local rate and taxpayers to fund programs, agencies
and departments through such hidden taxes and fees.
