A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION'S COMPLETION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO
INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35.
WHEREAS, Interstate Highway 35 is a major roadway and
essential to the flow of persons and goods; and
WHEREAS, the increasing traffic on Interstate Highway
35 will fast become desperate if the existing roadway is
not quickly brought to its full potential; and
WHEREAS, Interstate Highway 35 was recently designated
by Congress as a Highway priority Corridor in the National
System Designation Act, recognizing its importance to the
nation's economy and potential risks to the nation's future
if it is not properly maintained and utilized; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is of

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City strongly supports
the completion of improvements to Interstate Highway 35 as
a step forward in providing full access to Texas and other
markets and pledges its cooperation with the Texas
Department of Transportation and the Federal Traffic
Administration.
