RESOLUTION NO. 9~-P--S-
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS IN SUPPORT OF THE CIBOLO
VALLEY ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL.
WHEREAS,
Cibolo Valley Alcohol and
(CVADACl has been a guiding
against drug and alcohol abuse
Drug
force
since
Abuse Council
in the fight
1980: and
WHEREAS, the Greater Randolph Area is a unique community for
which CVADAC has provided positive personal
assistance for individuals and families: and
WHEREAS, CVADAC has prOVided and met the needs of people with
very little money from State Funds: and
WHEREAS, traditional services prOVided by CVADAC for the
Greater Randolph Area have not been met by adjoining
Councils: and
WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse
(TCADA) has seen fit to withdraw funding from CVADAC
for the coming year and have increased funding for
outlying councils in San Antonio and Seguin: NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS:
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas endorses
and supports the Cibo10 Valley Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Council and urges the TCADA to continue funding this very
necessary and worthwhile organization; and, further, the
citizens of Schertz are urged to join in the support of this
program.
