A RESOLUTION
TO BEGIN THE PROCESS OF PUBLIC
WITH THE INTENT TO CONSIDER
JACK HAYS BOULEVARD/F.M.
RECOGNITION OF THE LATE DR.
SR.
HEARINGS
RE-NAMING
3009 IN
ROY RICHARD,
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz wishes to
many civic contributions by Dr. Roy Richard;
recognize
and
the
WHEREAS, the naming of a major thoroughfare in
recognition of the dedication and community spirit evidenced
by his actions is intended to call attention to the esteem in
which the City of Schertz holds Dr. Richard; and
WHEREAS,
names within
and
the guidelines for changes in street and road
the City of Schertz prescribes certain action;
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council hereby express
interest in beginning the process to consider public comment
on this question: NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the Planning and Zoning Commission and City Staff
be instructed to begin the process to establish public
hearings and notices to all owners of property adjacent to
F.M. 3009/Jack Hays Boulevard from IH-35 to F.M. 78 of the
intent to consider this request to make a name change of that
thoroughfare.
