A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS REQUESTING THE GUADALUPE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS COURT TO ESTABLISH THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ AS ONE OR MORE DISTINCT VOTING
PRECINCT
WHEREAS, under the 1990 United States Census, the City
of Schertz, Texas population is above 10,000; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 42, Sec.

each commissioners court shall determine whether the county
election precincts comply; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION I
THAT the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas
requests the Commissioner's Court establish one or more County
Election Precincts containing only the residents of Guadalupe
County within the city limits of the City of Schertz, Texas as a
separate and distinct election precinct.
SECTION II
The City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas
understands that the provisions of Chapter 42 of the Texas
Election Code relating to this matter may stipulate the precinct
not contain more than 2,000 registered voters; therefore, we
further request that if more than one precinct is necessary, the

Ci ty of Schertz be divided into one or more distinct voting
precincts but not to contain territory outside the city limits of
Schertz.
