A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING AND APPROVING THE CANYON
REGIONAL WATER AUTHORITY'S APPLICATION FOR A
FEDERAL GRANT TO FUND CONSTRUCTION OF WATER
TRANSMISSION PIPELINES TO SERVE THREE WATER
SUPPLY CORPORATION MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz, Texas("City")
the Canyon Regional Water Authority for its interest
dedication to, prOViding potable water for consumers
Central-Texas area; and
commends
in, and
in the
WHEREAS, the "City" is interested in, and supports, the
economic development of the Central-Texas area; and
WHEREAS, potable water is of vital importance to said
development; and
WHEREAS, unappropriated surface water has become of
major importance to consumers in the "City"; and
WHEREAS, "City" understands that the Canyon Regional
Water Authority has initiated steps to secure, treat, and deliver
potable water to area consumers in that it has conducted and
adopted a Regional Water Supply Study; and
WHEREAS, the Canyon Regional
initiated projects which will insure a
unappropriated surface water; and
Water Authority has
dependable supply of
WHEREAS, the "Ci ty" understands that the Canyon
Regional Water Authority is seeking a Federal Grant in the amount
of $8,000,000 (the "Grant"); NOW THEREFORE

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the "City" fully supports and approves the Canyon
Regional Water Authority's application for the "Grant" to fund
construction of approximately 17 miles of water transmission
pipeline to serve three water supply corporation members of the
Canyon Regional Water Authority and potentially, the City and the
cities of Cibolo and Marion.
