A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNC I L OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
. TEXAS, APPROVING NEW ELECTRIC RATES TO BE
CHARGED BY GUADALUPE VALLEY ELECTRfC
COOPERATIVE WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF
SCHERTZ.
WHEREAS, on June 22, 1987, the Guadalupe Valley
Electric Cooperative, Inc. fl led with the Publ ic Uti I ity
Commission of Texas, and on the same day with the City of
Schertz, a Statement' of I ntent to change its rate for each c I ass
of electric service; and
WHEREAS, inclusive in the Statement of Intent fi led on
June 22, 1987, was a copy of the proposed rates and support I ng
documentation standing in justification of the proposed changes;
and
WHEREAS, from June 22, 1987, through September 23,
1987, the staff of the Publ ie Utility Commission of Texas
conducted a thorough and detai led investigation of the changes
proposed by the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, on October 30, 1987, and November 1, 1987, the
mer its of 'the proposed changes were heard' I n hear i ng before a
Public Uti I ity Commission hearing examiner; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 1987, a f i na I order was issued
in Docket #7550 adopting the basic position of the Public Uti I ity
Commission Staff; and
WHEREAS, uniformity of electric rates by the Guadalupe
Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. throughout its service area is
desirable; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
THAT the rates as proposed by the Public Uti I ity
Commission Staff in Docket #7550, or as they may be altered in
the tariff approval submitted to comply with the final order
issued in Docket #7550, are hereby approved; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,
THAT such rates sha II be app I i cab I e to a II GVEC
consumers within the corporate city limits of Schertz and such
rates shall be placed in effect on the effective date as stated
Tn the Final Order of the Publ ic Uti Ilty Commission of Texas in
Docket #7550.

Dear Mayor Sawyer:
On June 22, 1987, the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative,
Inc. filed simultaneously with the Public Utility Commission of
Texas and the City of Schertz a request to change rates.
Documents were filed on that date with all parties of record
stating GVEC's proposed changes and inclusive of supporting data
(three (3) large brown volumes).
On this day we have personally contacted the City of
Schertz staff and orally requested to appear before the Schertz
City Council at its meeting on January 5, 1988.
In confirmation of our telephone conversation, please
consider this our formal request to be placed on the agenda for
appearance before the City of Schertz at the meeting of its City
Council to be held on Tuesday, January 5, 1988.
The nature of the appearance of GVEC is as follows:
Consider change of electric service rates to customers
of the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc.
located within the corporate city li.its of Schertz.

to January 5, 1988, please feel free to contact the
Administrative Division of GVEC.
