RESOLUTION NO. 06-R-06
A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, TO CERTIFY
FUNDING AND SUPPORT FOR THE STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION
ENCHANCEMENT PROGRAM NOMINATION FORM 2006 WITH THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE APPLICATION TO
RECEIVE FUNDS FOR THE ROY RICHARDS MEMORIAL PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz wishes to improve the safety and efficiency of
the movement of people by walking and beautifying by adding sidewalks,
landscaping and drainage improvements; and,
WHEREAS, The Roy Richards Memorial Project is a viable and important asset
to the City, School and Local Businesses; and,
WHEREAS, the building of the sidewalks, landscaping and drainage
improvements will accomplish the intention of the City of Schertz; and,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas:
THAT, the governing body of the City of Schertz will apply for funding through
the Texas Department of Transportation to make the necessary improvements to provide
sidewalks, landscaping and drainage improvements along FM 3009 between IH 35 and
FM 78. The City agrees to commit to the project's development, implementation,
maintenance, management and financing. The City of Schertz further agrees to provide
the required local match at 20% or greater of the total project cost, including being
responsible for all non-federally fundable items and 100 percent of all overruns.
