A RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
SUPPORTING THE SAN ANTONIO RIVER AUTHORITY'S ACTION TO
FACILITATE THE CREATION OF THE PARTNERSHIP FOR REGIONAL WATER
DEVELOPMENT AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF
THE CITY OF SCHERTZ TO TAKE ACTION IN SUPPORT OF AND THE CREATION
OF THE PARTNERSHIP ON BEHALF OF CITY OF SCHERTZ.
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas has received a request from the San Antonio
River Authority to support regional water development; and
WHEREAS, the Region L Planning Group has identified future water needs by the Member entities for
the next fifty years that may be met by collaboration of projects that can be developed to meet these
needs; and
WHEREAS, the San Antonio River Authority proposes that a water development partnership be
organized in which water entities can come together to develop common projects to be more cost
effective; and
WHEREAS, The City of Schertz supports any effort to reduce cost and make water supply for its
customers more diversified and stable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, THAT:
1. The City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, hereby supports the San Antonio River
Authority's action to facilitate the creation of the Partnership for Regional Water Development
that will provide a mechanism for water providers to work together and develop water projects
that meet the needs of communities in this region.
2. The City Manager of the City of Schertz, Texas, is hereby Authorized and directed to take action
in support of and the creation of the Partnership and to represent Schertz's intent of support
publicly.
