1975M31 THE STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTY OF GUADALUPE ~ CITY OF SCHERTZ ~ On this, the 16th day of September, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meeting at the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building of said City in the City of Schertz, Texas, whi ch meeti ng was at a 11 times open to the public, and at which meeting the following members were present, to-wit: ROBERT C. BUEKER MAYOR NELL G. FUNK ALDERWOMAN ~~NAK~X~XXgKKEAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX~~ WALTER F. SCHNEIDER ED L. SHARPE GAIL HYATT ABSENT: DONALD J. SEEBA AND ALDERMAN ALDERMAN ALDERWOMAN ALDERMAN JUNE G. KRAUSE DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY SECRETARY CITY MANAGER There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor; and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the following captioned ordinance which was read in full by the City Manager. Councilmember Funk moved that said ordinance be considered by the Council as an emergency mea- sure, which motion was seconded by Councilmember Hyatt Whereupon said motion was fully discussed and considered. The Mayor put the motion to consider said ordinance as an emergency measure to the members of the City Council and said motion was approved and adopted by the following vote: AYES; Mrs. Funk, Mr. Schneider, Mr. Sharpe and Mrs. Hyatt. NAYS: None The Mayor then introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance as an emergency measure. Thereupon it was moved by Council= member Funk and seconded by Councilmember Hyatt that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Mrs. Funk, Mr. Schneider, Mr. Sharpe and Mrs. Hyatt. NAYS: None " " ORDINANCE NO. 'ltJ-fj1-3/ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1,1975 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,1976, BY APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR SAID PERIOD AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS OUT OF THE GENERAL AND OTHER REVENUES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, FOR SAID YEAR FOR THE MAIN- TENANCE AND OPERATION OF THE VARIOUS DEPART- MENTS AND FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND IMPROVE- MENTS OF THE CITY; AND STIPULATING EMERGENCY ADOPTION. WHEREAS, as required by the General Laws of the State of Texas the budget has been prepared and submitted to the City Council with estimates of expenditures and revenues of all City departments and activitjes for the year beginning October 1,1975 and ending September 30,1976; and WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing upon said budget has been duly and legally published; and WHEREAS, said public hearing has been held and full and final consideration given said budget, NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINEB BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: Section 1. That for the purpose of providing the funds necessary and proposed to be expended in the budget for said City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1975 and ending September 30, 1976, the budget was prepared and submitted to the City Council for its consideration and approval and that said budget in the total amount of $871,605.00, and the same is hereby approved and the available resources and revenues of said City are hereby appropriated for the maintenance of the City and the various activities and improvements as set forth in said budget. Section 2. That the said budget of the City of Schertz, Texas, for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1975 and ending September 30, 1976, and exact copy of which is marked IIExhibit All and made a part hereof for all purposes the same as if it were copied in full herein, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, as the budget for the City for the fiscal year 1976. Section 3. This ordinance approving and adopting a budget for the twelve-month period hereinabove specified is made in all things in accor- dance with the terms and provisions of the General Laws of the State of Texas and the City Charter. ~ Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage and approval as required by law. Section 5. The public importance of this measure constitutes and creates an urgent public necessity requiring that this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure, and this ordinance is accordingly passed as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon and after its passage.
