On this, the 4th day of March, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M.
the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a
regular meeting at the regular meeting place in the Municipal
Building in the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to due call
and notice to all of the members of said City Council, which
meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meet-
ing the following members were present, to-wit:

There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to
order by the Mayor, and among other proceedings had were the
following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance,
which has been read and considered at the last regular meeting
of the City Council on the 18 day of February, 1975. It was
determined that the City Secretary had caused a short synopsis
of said proposed ordinance to be published in the official City
newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting
of the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further con-
sidered by the Council.

AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING THE SOUTHERN STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION
CODE, 1974 EDITION, AS THE FIRE CODE OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AS HEREIN MODIFIED:
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORD-
INANCE; REPEALING ALL PRESENT ORDINANCES IN
DIRECT CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE; AND CON-
TAINING OTHER MATTERS PERTltfENT TO THE SUBJECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. TITLE
This ordinance is and shall be known and may be cited
as the Fire Code of the City of Schertz.
ADOPTED
SECTION 2. SOUTHERN STANDARD FIRE PREVENTION CODE;
The 1974 edition of the Southern Standard Fire Prevention
Code, as adopted by the Board of Trustees, Southern Building Code
Congress in 1974 in Asheville, North Carolina, is specifically
adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Schertz, Texas, and a copy
is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as though
set out completely in detail. A copy of said Southern Standard
Fire Prevention Code shall be filed with the City Secretary and
maintained in the City Secretary's office of the City of Schertz,
Texas, and all such copies shall be open to public inspection
during business hours of the office where they are situated.
SECTION 3. PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS
Any person violating, or failing to comply with, any
provision of the Southern Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1974
edition, as adopted shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction thereof, shall be fined an amount not exceeding
two hundred dollars ($?OO.OO). Each day's violation hereof shall
constitute a separate offense and be punishable as such.
SECTION 4. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES
This ordinance and the Southern Standard Fire Prevention
Code, 1974 Edition, adopted herein by reference are cumulative of
any present ordinance unless this ordinance and said Southern
Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1974 Edition, are in direct conflict
therewith, in which connection this ordinance and the Southern
Standard Fire Prevention Code, 1974 Edition, shall govern.
