74-T-33 THE STATE OF TEXAS I COUNTY OF GUADALUPE I CITY OF SCHERTZ I On this, the 17th day of September, 1974, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meeting at the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building of said City in the City of Schertz, Texas, which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meeting the following members were present, to-wit: ROBERT C. BUEKER MRS. NELL G. FUNK ROBERT E. SCHWARTZ MAYOR ALDERWOMAN ALDERMAN ALDERMAN TOM KOOLE DONALD J. SEEBA MRS. BOBBIE L. KOCH ALDERMAN ALDERWOMAN AND MRS. JUNE G. KRAUSE DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY SECRETARY CITY MANAGER There being.a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor; and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the following captioned ordinance which was read in full by the City Manager. Councilmember -.J,!'L4 moved that said ordinance be considered by the Council' as an emergency measure, which motion was seconded by Councilmember 1~ Whereupon said motion was fully discussed and considered. The Mayor put the motion to consider said ordinance as an emergency measure to the members of the City Council and said motion was approved and adopted by the following vote: AYES: All members shown present voted "AYE" NAYS: None L The Mayor then introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance as an emergency measure. Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember ~-rj.l')1l4 and seconded by Council- member ~~ that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: All members present voted "AYE" NAYS: None ," ORDINANCE NUMBER 74- -T- 33 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND ASSESSING ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS FOR THE YEAR 1974, PROVIDING THE BASIS OF ASSESSMENT OF APPRAISED VALUE AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF AT THE RATE OF $1.00 ON THE ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) ASSESSED VALUATION; stipulating emergency adoption. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: Section 1. That there is hereby levied and assessed against all taxable property, both real and personal, within the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas, and there shall be collected by such city, a tax of $1.00 on the one-hun- dred ($100) assessed tax valuation for the year 1974. Section 2. Such tax is hereby levied and assessed in accordance with the applicable Statues of the State of Texas, such levy and assessment is made for the following purposes, to wit: (A) For current expense and operation of the General Fund and its various departments (B) For requirements of the Tax Bond Interest and Sinking Fund to meet the outstanding tax supported indebtedness of the City for Fiscal Year 1974-1975 Total Tax Rate The City Treasurer has certified to the availability of funds to pay the princi- pal and interest on the following indebted- ness during the Fiscal Year 1974-1975. That the Tax Assessor and Collector for the City of Schertz, Texas is hereby directed to assess and collect taxes of the City of Schertz, Texas on the basis of 50% of appraised values for the year 1974, such basis of assessment being required to meet the proposed expend- itures of the General Fund for the Fiscal Year 1974-1975 and collection of taxes thereof at the rate of $l.OO on the $100.00 assessed valuation as herein provided. Section 4. The public importance of this measure constitutes and creates an urgent pUblic necessity requiring that this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure, and this ordinance is accordingly passed as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon and after its passage.
