RESOLUTION NO. 06- R- 1 0
A RESOLUTION
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, CALLING FOR
COOPERATION AND A COMMITMENT TO ESTABLISH A SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS TRAINING CENTER FOR EMERGENCY SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz supports a South Central Texas
Emergency Services training center in South Central Texas; and,
WHEREAS, efforts have been underway for several years, and the
communities continue to support a facility to promote the training of Police, Fire
and EMS departments, enhancing the professional skills in responding to
incidents, including natural disasters and acts of terrorism, and increasing public
safety education and preparedness; and,
WHEREAS, the South Central Texas area, including the counties of
Carnal, Guadalupe and Bexar, is in dire need of a regional training center for
emergency services, as this area has outgrown facilities available due to the
rapid growth, from an influx in population within the last five years; and,
WHEREAS, cities in this area feel that this faCility will enhance the
protection of the citizens.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the Cjty of Schertz,
Texas:
THAT, the governing body of the City of Schertz hereby adopts a
resolution calling for a commitment to support the establishment of a regional
training center for emergency services in the South Central Texas area.
