Board Members present: Mark Davis, Harriet Higgs, Sally Macias, Patrick Russell and Fae
Simmons.
Staff present: Brian James, Executive Director Development Services, Chuck Van Zandt, Parks
Manager and Sandy Bryant, Sr. Administrative Assistant.
Others present: None.
Call to order. Due to the absence of the Chairman and Vice - Chairman the meeting was called to
order by the Advisory Board Secretary, Sandy Bryant at 5:37pm. Ms. Bryant briefed the Board that
they would need to elect a chairperson for this meeting.
Ms. Harriet Higgs nominated Mr. Mark Davis and Sally Macias seconded the motion. There were
no other nominations.

Agenda Item No. 1. Parks Advisory Board Master Plan Update. Mr. Mark Davis briefed the Board
that Chapter 5 of the Master Plan needs the Board to establish park standards for the Citv of
Schertz.
Standards for baseball and softball fields:
Motion was made to combine baseball and softball fields and set the standard at one field per
3,000 residents.
