Library Board Agenda 4-7-14SCHERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING MEETING ROOM 1 798 SCHERTZ PARKWAY SCHERTZ, TEXAS 78154 AGENDA MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2014 7:00 p.m. CALL TO ORDER: HEARING OF RESIDENTS This time is reserved for any person who wishes to address the Library Advisory Board. Presentations should be limited to no more than 5 minutes. Each person who wishes to speak should sign in on the Speaker’s register prior to the meeting. The Board can only discuss items that are on the agenda. Discussion by the Board of any item not on the agenda shall be limited to statements of specific factual information given in response to any inquiry, a recitation of existing policy in response to an inquiry, and/or a proposal to place the item on a future agenda. The presiding officer, during the Hearing of Residents portion of the agenda, will call on those persons who have signed up to speak in the order they have registered. REGULAR AGENDA 1. Minutes - Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of March 3, 2014 2. Treasurer’s Report – Consideration and/or action approving the February 2014 Treasurer’s Report 3. Librarians’ Report – Librarian will report on the following items: • February 2014 Library usage statistics • General operation of library during previous month • Reminder about Library Board reappointments (applications are due by April 15, 2014) • Reminder about Volunteer Fair on April 10, 2014 4. Bookstore Report – Report on the following items: • General operation of the bookstore during previous month 5. Presentation of City’s Budget Process—Presentation by City Manager John Kessel on the City’s budget process. DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION 6. Summer Reading Club—Discussion and possible action on funding the remaining summer reading club projects. 7. Volunteer & Staff Appreciation—Discussion and possible action regarding organizing the volunteer luncheon and staff appreciation meal(s). 8. Volunteer Policy Revision—Discussion and possible action regarding revisions to the Library’s volunteer policy. ANNOUNCEMENTS 9.
