81-M-22 ORDINANCE NO. ;s; / - /JJ -'J. :}- AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1981 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1982, BY APPROVING THE BUDGET FOR SAID PERIOD AND APPROPRIATING THE NECESSARY FUNDS OUT OF THE GENERAL AND OTHER REVENUES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, FOR SAID YEAR FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS AND FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS OF THE CITY. WHEREAS, as required by the General Laws of the State of Texas and the City Charter, the budget has been prepared and submitted to the City Council with estimates of expenditures and revenues of all City Departments and activities for the year beginning October 1,1981 and ending September 30, 1982, and WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing upon said budget has been duly and legally published; and WHEREAS, said public hearing has been held and full and final consideration given said budget, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of providing the funds necessary and proposed to be expended in the budget for said City for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1981, and ending September 30, 1982, the budget was prepared and submitted to the City Council for its consideration and approva 1 and that said budget in the total amount of $ /., so -:1. / t {; and the same is hereby approved and the available resources ana revenues of said City are hereby appropriated for the maintenance of the City and the various activities and improvements as set forth in said budget. SECTION 2. That the said budget of the City of Schertz, Texas, for the fiscal year beginning October 1,1981 and ending September 30, 1982, an exact copy of which is marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof for all purposes the same as if it were copied in full herein, is hereby approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, as the budget for the City for the fiscal year 1981-82. SECTION 3. This ordinance approving and adopting a budget for the twelve-month period hereinabove specified is made in all things in accordance with the terms and provisions of the General Laws of the State of Texas and the City Charter. SECTION 4. Gilmore CITY SECRETARY CITY MANAGER There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were the following: The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance, which has been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City Council on the 4 day of August , 1981 It was determi ned that the City Secretary had caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the official City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting. Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further considered.by the Council. Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember Taylor and seconded by Councilmember Lawler that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote: AYES: Howe, Taylor, Sawyer and Lawler NAYS: None ........... .r..:--H, D...~.. (LEGAL NOTICE) The City Council of the City of Schertz will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 4, 1981, at 7:00 P.M. in the Coun~il Chambers, 1400 Live Oak Road pursuant to' adoption of a budget for Fiscal Year 1981-82. A copy of the proposed budget is filed with the City Secretary and may be inspected by the public at her office between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:45 P.M. Monday through Friday. The proposed budget anticipates revenues to be $868,670.00 in the General Fund which includes $45,000 in Federal Revenue Sharing Funds. The anti- cipated revenues in the Water and Sewer Funds are $626,675. All service charges and fees remain at the level they are at the present time. Proposed expenditures in the General Fund are $868,256. This includes proposed expenditures from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds for capital items in the Police, Fire, Streets & Parks, Swimming Pool Departments and other services.
