May 7, 2015 MinutesTransportation Safety Advisory Commission Minutes Thursday, May 7, 2015 5:30 P.M. The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) convened for a meeting on May 7, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber Conference Room, Building #4, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, Texas 78154. TSAC Commissioners Present: Stephen Bish — Chairperson Bill Bowers Cook, John Davis, Mark Dziewit, Richard Franklin, Larry Eric Haugen Staff Present: Kathy Woodlee, City Engineer Albert Arriaga, Traffic Safety Division Cecilia Palomo, EIT Doug Letbetter, Streets Superintendent Jennifer Jones, Public Works Sr Admin CALL TO ORDER AT ROLL CALL HEARING OF RESIDENTS 5:30 p.m., by Chairperson Stephen Bish No residents requested to address the Commission during this meeting. 1. Minutes: Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of the April 2, 2015 Meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Larry Franklin to approve the minutes of the April 2, 2015 Meeting. Second by Commissioner John Cook. Motion passed. Vote was unanimous. 2. Engineering Department Updates: Engineering gave updates on the following areas: • Hands Free Ordinance went back to Council on 4.9.15 without call for vote. Still in discussion process. • Schwab Rd. — EIT and Street Supervisor visiting a few aggregate companies letting them know that an ordinance was coming in the near future and letters would be sent out. • Curtis and Pfeil Crossing Guard. Doug met with the crossing guard (Adrian) and observed the issue at hand. There was very little movement to cause for changes at this time. • Carolina Crossing South Traffic Control — Ordinance passed on 5.2.15. Traffic officers will begin patrolling but will lean more towards warning than citations as to not gain a rough reputation. • Jonas Woods — Doug gave update, they are still reviewing the traffic studies. 5 -7 -2015 Minutes 3. Future agenda items requested by Commissioners: Commissioner Davis stated that there are cars still parking on Savannah across from Carolina Crossing South. Commissioner Davis also brought up the fact that TxDot needs to check on changing the left hand turn lane signs at FM78 & FM3009. i 4. Adjournment: Motion made by Commissioner Larry Franklin to adjourn the meeting. Second by Commissioner John Cook. Motion passed. Vote was unanimous. Meeting adjourned at 5:58 pm.
