Board Members present: Dr. Mustapha Debboun, Chairman, Reginna Agee,
Higgs, Sally Macias, Johnie McDow, Patrick Russell and Fae Simmons.
Staff present: Jim Fowler, Councilman, Chuck Van Zandt, Parks Manager
Administrative Assistant.
Others present: Mr. Robert Brockman and Mr. Joel Tanner.
Call to order. Meeting was called to order by Dr. Mustapha Debboun,

Agenda Item No. 1. Parks Advisory Board Master Plan Update. Mr. Mark D

Agenda Item No. 2. Wendy Swan Park. Mr. Van Zandt briefed the Board that they had approved
changing the name of the Northcliffe Park to the Wendy Swan Park but the City Council had voted
to change the name to the Wendy Swan Memorial Park and he wanted to make sure the Board was
agreeable to the Wendy Swan Memorial Park
Motion was made to approve the name of the Park to be the Wendy Swan

Agenda Item No. 4 Announcements by Advisory Board Chairman and members. Chairman
Debboun thanked Mr. Chuck Van Zandt and Ms. Sandy Bryant for their hard work and assistance to
the Board.
Ms. Harriet Higgs asked who won the Festival of Angels awards for the floats.
Mr. Patrick Russell wondered if the City was upping its security in the Parks due to the incident in
Garden Ridge.
Mr. Johnie McDow noted that it was BVYA's 40th Anniversary and there would be a Parade on
March 29, 2014 at 9:OOam before the opening ceremony at 10:30am for the Spring Baseball
Opening Day.
Agenda Item No. 11. Announcements by Cites Ms. Sandy Bryant announced that the next
Board meeting would be Monday, February 24, 2014. Mr. Van Zandt reminded the Board that the
Wilenchik Walk would be held on March 1 and encouraged the Board to participate.
