A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS, APPROVING THE CANVASS OF THE NOVEMBER
8, 2016 GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTION AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF SUCH ELECTION
WHEREAS, a general and special election was held in the City of Schertz, Texas (the "City "),
on the 8th day of November, 2016 to elect the Mayor, Councilmembers for Place 1, Place 2,
Place 6 and Place 7 and the unexpired term for Place 3; and
WHEREAS, said elections were duly and legally held in conformity with the applicable
election laws of the State of Texas ( "Texas "); and
WHEREAS, the administrators of the election have provided to the City, as required by
applicable Texas law, the election results, as tabulated by the administrators on the night of the
election; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with applicable Texas law, Mayor Carpenter and the City Council
duly canvassed the results of the election on this the 21 st day of November, 2016; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the canvass, the reported votes establish the following results:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION I
The City Council finds that the results of the general election as set forth above reflect the
reported votes, and the canvass of votes is hereby approved.
SECTION H
The total of votes cast during early voting was 11,601 by personal appearance, and 2,389 votes
were cast on Election Day. The total number of votes cast in this election was 13,990.
