01-05-15SCBEERTZ PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING January 5„ 2015 Members Present: Sandy Keiser, Laura Wilson, Mary McAllister, Howson Lau, Melissa Uhlhorn, Carol Cyr, Ruth Tienor, Janice Manzo, Neota Brady, Bobbie Boyce, Joanne Ward, Juan Thorn, Patti Paulson Visitors: None CALL TOORDER: Bobbie Boyce called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. 1. Minutes: Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of the minutes for• November 3, 2014 and December 1, 2014. Mary McAllister moved to accept the minutes as reported with a minor typo change (removing the word of). Juan Thorn seconded the motion. Motion carried. The November and December minutes were approved. 2. Treasurer's Report: Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the September Treasurer's Report. Bookstore sales were $1,221.85, consignments were $221.04 - Total 1442.89. Ruth Tienor moved to accept the Treasurer's Report as presented. Sandy Keiser seconded the motion. The motion carried. The Treasurer's report was approved. 3. Our Library has rodents. All necessary trappings are in play. Foundation paid for electronic resources, digital downloads and magazines -The way of doing electronic books has changed, we have several copies of each, which made the total count go up. We now have a nice cushion of books 4. Bookstore Report: Joanne Ward, Bookstore Manager reported on the following: General Operation: -Daily operations are doing well. - No more VHS tapes to be taken - The next bag sale will be 2/20 and 2/21. We will be setting up Thursday the 19`h at 5 :30. A volunteer schedule will be passed around at the February Board Meeting. 5. Items by the Library Board Members: Briefing and discussion on the following items: - Correspondence received by the Secretary: None - Other announcements by Library Board members: Howson Lau gave an update on the monthly Mayor's forum meeting. _Neota Brady relayed a request from a friend that the Library lengthen the time that books can be checked -out. Ruth Tienor moved to adjourn the meeting. Laura Wilson seconded the motion. The motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m. The next meeting is February 2, 2015.
