The Schertz Board of Adjustment convened on October 22, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the Municipal
Complex, Council Chambers, 1400 Schertz Parkway Building #4, Schertz, Texas.

Mr. Dziewit called the regular meeting to order at 6:03 P.M. and recognized members
present.
2. Seat Alternate to Act if Required:
Danielene Salas was seated as alternate.
3. Consent Agenda:
A. Minutes for the August 27, 2018 Regular Meeting.
Mr. Hartzog moved to approve the August 27, 2018 regular meeting. Mrs. Agee
seconded the motion. The vote was 4 -0. Motion carried.
4. Public Hearing:
A. BOA2018 -007
A request for variances to UDC Sec.21.11.9 Wall Signs, in order to permit a) two
additional wall signs including a second primary sign for a total of five wall signs, b)
increased primary wall sign maximum area, c) allowance of more than one sign per wall,
and d) allowance of one primary wall sign to extend above the roofline, located at 18658
I -35N, City of Schertz, Guadalupe County, Texas.

Mrs. Agee moved to deny the BOA2018 -007 item A. Mr. Hartzog seconded the
motion. The vote was 4 -1 with Mrs. Salas voted nay. The variance request was denied.
Mr. Hartzog moved to deny the BOA2018 -007 item B. Mrs. Agee seconded the
motion. The vote was 4 -1 with Mrs. Salas voted nay. The variance request was denied.
Mrs. Agee moved to approved the BOA2018 -007 item C. Mr. Hartzog seconded the
motion. The vote was 4 -1 with Mrs. Salas voted nay. The variance request was denied.
Mr. Hartzog moved to deny the BOA2018 -007 item B. Mrs. Agee seconded the
motion. The vote was 4 -1 with Mrs. Salas voted nay. The variance request was denied.
B. BOA2018 -008
A request for a variance to UDC Sec.21.11.10B Maximum Area of Freestanding Ground
Signs to allow a freestanding ground sign with a maximum area of 480 square feet at
19513 I -35N, City of Schertz, Comal County, Texas.

Mr. Hartzog moved to deny the BOA2018 -008. Mrs. Agee seconded the motion. The
vote was 4 -1 with Mrs. Salas voted nay. The variance request was denied.
