PZ 3-13-19 MinutesPLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES March 13, 2019 The Schertz Planning and Zoning Commission convened on March 13, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex, Council Chambers, 1400 Schertz Parkway Building #4, Schertz, Texas. PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION Michael Dahle, Chairman Ernie Evans, Vice Chairman Richard Braud Ken Greenwald LaDonna Bacon Gordon Rae Lauren Garrott- Came in after consent agenda COMMISSIONERS ABSENT Glen Outlaw 1. Call To Order: CITY STAFF Mark Browne, City Manager Bryce Cox, Senior Planner Tiffany Danhof, Executive Assistant Emily Delgado, Planner Nick Koplyay, Planner Megan Santee, City Attorney OTHERS PRESENT QuikTrip Corporation Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. Mr. Dahle called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. 2. Hear of Residents: No residents spoke. 3. Consent Agenda: A. Minutes for the February 27, 2019 regular meetings. Mr. Greenwald motioned to approve minutes for the February 27, 2019 regular meeting. Mr. Braud seconded the motion. The vote was 6 -0 with, motion carried. 4. Public Hearing: A. SUP2018 -003 Hold a public hearing, consider and make a recommendation on a request for a Specific Use Permit to allow a Convenience Store with Gas Pumps on approximately 2 acres of land, more specifically described as the southeast corner of FM 3009 and Ripps- Kreusler, City of Schertz, Guadalupe County, Texas. Mr. Dahle opened the public hearing 6:07 P.M. QuikTrip Corporation gave a presentation. Minutes Planning and Zoning Commission March 13, 2019 Page 1 of 2 Mr. Dahle closed the public hearing 6:24 P.M. There was a lengthy discussion. Mr. Greenwald motioned to recommend approval to the City Council on item SUP2018- 003. Mr. Rae seconded the motion. The vote was 5 -2 with Mrs. Bacon and Mr. Evans voting nay, motion carried. 5. Requests and Announcements: A. Requests by Commissioners to place items on a future Planning and Zoning Agenda. There were requests by Mr. Braud and Mrs. Bacon. B. Announcements by Commissioners. City and community events attended and to be attended Continuing education events attended and to be attended There were announcements by Mr. Greenwald and Mr. Braud. C. Announcements by City Staff. • City and community events attended and to be attended. • NEW SITE PLAN APPLICATIONS: There were no new site plan applications submitted to the Planning and Community Development Department between February 25, 2019 and March 8, 2019. There were no announcements by city staff. 6. Adjournment of the regular meeting: Chairman Dahle adjourned the regular meeting at 6:56 P.M.
