AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES,
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY
REPEALING ARTICLE IV, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
COMMITTEE AND ADDING A NEW ARTICLE IV,
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION I
THAT ARTICLE IV, Sections 2-70, 2-71 and 2-72 of the
Code of Ordinances are hereby repealed and declared null and void
and of no effect.
SECTION II
THAT a new ARTICLE IV of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of Schertz, Texas, shall read as follows:
"ARTICLE IV ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TASK FORCE
Sec. 2-70. Established~ composition.
There is hereby created an Economic Development Task Force to be
composed of City residents, employees of City businesses, or
property owners who desire to devote their time and efforts to
the objectives of the Task Force.
Sec. 2-71. Appointment of members.
All members who are officers of the Task Force, as defined in
their Bylaws, shall be approved and appointed by the Schertz City
Council. All other members shall be appointed by the Chairman.
The City Council shall appoint at least one member of the City
Council as a member of the Task Force.
Sec. 2-72. Objectives.
As an agency of the City of Schertz, the broad range objectives
of the Task Force shall be to promote the local economy through
the recruitment of new business into the City, and encouraging
the growth of existing business."
