AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 84-F-21,
SECTION XXIX - WATER RATES EXTABLISHED, AS
SET OUT IN EXHIBIT 4, PARAGRAPH C -RATES
OUTSIDE THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY;
ORDINANCE 83-F-7, SECTION XXXIX -PENALTY FOR
DELINQUENCE AND SECTION XL - DISCONTINUANCE
OF SERVICE FOR FAILURE TO PAY; AND REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
I
THAT Ordinance 84-F-21, Section XXIX. Water rates
established. Exhibit 4 C is hereby amended to read as follows:
EXHIBIT 4
C. Rates outside the corporate limits of the City.
The uniform monthly rate charged to persons living
outside the corporate limits of the City shall be 200%
of that charged persons living within the corporate
limits of the city.

THAT ORDINANCE 83-F-7 Section XXXIX. Penalty for
delinquency is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION XXXIX. Penalty for delinquency
If a bill for water and wastewater service is not paid
on or before the tenth day following the billing date,
it shall be deemed delinquent and ten percent (10%) of
the total amount of such bill shall be added to same as
a penalty for nonpayment. Mail postmarked the 10th day
after billing date shall be accepted without penalty.
Payments in the drop-box at 8:00 a.m. on the 11th day
after billing date shall be accepted without penalty.
An additional ten percent (10%) of the balance due
shall be added for each additional thirty-day period
for which such customer is delinquent.

THAT ORDINANCE 83-f-7 Section XL. Discontinuance of
service for failure to pay is hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION XL. Discontinuance of service for failure to
pay.
A. Any customer that has not paid the bill for water
and wastewater service by the twentieth (20th)
day after the billing date, shall have his/her
water and wastewater services discontinued.
IV
All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or exhibits in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
