ORDINANCE NO. 99-E-10
AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH~CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF THE CITY GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN
SAID CITY ON THE FIRST DAY OFH MAY, 1999, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS. there came to be considered the returns of a City Council
election duly and legally held if) the City of Schertz, Texas on May 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, this City CQuncil has diligently inquired into the poll lists and
official election returns which were duly and lawfully made to said City Council by
the Judge and Clerks holding ~aid election; and
WHEREAS, from said returns, this Council hereby finds that there were cast
in said election, by those voters who were resident qualified electors of the City,
the following votes:

WHEREAS, from the above tabulation and findings, this City Council further
finds that there were cast in said election a total of 767 votes and that for
Council member, PlaCE;t 3 Norma!) Agee. Sr. received a plurality of votes
cast; and for Council member, Place 4 Gl yn D. Hi 11 i ams (eceived a
plurality of votes cast; and for Council member, Place- 5
Ken Greenwald received a plurality of votes cast; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS:

THAT Norman Agee. Sr. is hereby duly elected Gouncilm19mber, Place
3 and Gl yn D. Wi 11 'i ams is hereby <tuly elected Councilmel1)ber, Place 4
and Ken Greenwald is hereby duly elected Council member, Place-5- OA-
the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to the election duly held
within said City on May 1, 1999.

THAT the public impprtance of thjs measure constitutes and creates an urgent
necessity to comply with the State Election Law that requires this Qrdinance be
passed and take effect as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be
in force immediately upon and after its passage.
