94-M-9 Pool Regulations ORDINANCE NO. ~~-~-9f AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING CHAPTER 12 1/2, ATTACHMENT "B", OF SAID CODE, PROVIDING FOR THE USE AND REGUALTIONS OF SWIMMING POOL FACILITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: I THAT Section 12 1/2-5 (b) Attachment B - SwimmingC Pool facility usage, be superceded by the "Attachment B" attached and made a part of this ordinance. II THAT all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. Establishing 1994 fees for swimming pool rates: A. $1.00 per swimmer per entry. B. Season rates: (Based on 90 swim days) Schertz Residents C. Maximum per season pass six members. Daily Operating Hours: * Special swim day Sept 5, open 12 noon to 8:00 pm. 4. Regulations: Tues - Fri. 12:00pm - 8:00 pm Mon - Closed for maintenance Mon - 5 to 9pm adult night Wed & Sun. reservation night 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm Wed. No reservation open 8:00 Sat. Open 12pm to 9pm A. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian or an adult (19 years of age or older>, unless they can successfully pass the swimming test as listed in the Pool Operations Manual, and must then be accompanied by a responsible person 14 years of age or older. B. Persons in street clothes will be allowed only in authorized areas. C. Admittance to the pool may be refused for the following reasons: (1) Where it is apparent the individual is physically unable to care for himself. (2) Drunkenness. (3) Any kind of contagious disease. (4) Any person, in the opinion of the pool manager or shift chief, whose behavior would be detrimental to the operation of the swimming pool. D. Conduct of persons in the pool area. (1) All patrons shall abide by the rules listed in the Pool Operations Manual; posted regulatory signa; and instructions of management or the lifeguard staff. E. Use of pool shall be limited to the posted hours and any person in violation thereof shall be considered in violation of this ordinance. 4. Reservations: Reservations will be accepted for Wednesday and Sunday evenings between the hours of 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Reservations must be made a minimum of (1) day prior to reservation date. A. Minimum rental time is two hours. B. Fees are based on the following: Schertz Residents Per Hour Out of City Per Hour 1 to 50 persons 51 to 100 persons 101 to 200 persons 201 to 293 persons $30.00 $40.00 $50.00 $75.00 1 to 50 persons 51 to 100 persons 101 to 200 persons 201 to 293 persons $70.00 $80.00 $150.00 $20e.00 These fees include guard supervision, operation of pool (such as utilities, chemicals, etc.) maintenance and cleaning. C. All pool regulations which apply to the general public must be observed. In addition, children and youth groups must be accompanied by at least two adult chaperones. D. Reservations will be made by adults only, in person, at the Swimming Pool Office. E. All reservation fees must be paid at time reservation is made. 5. Swimming lessons; dates and fees: A. Three, two week sessions: June 7-17; June 21-July 1 July 5-15 B. Minimum of 5 students, Maximum of 10 students per class. Four or less students class will be cancelled. C. Aquatics Programs are: Waterbabies, Beginners I & II, Intermediate, Advanced swim lessons. 7. Special Aquatic Programs are: Lifeguard Training, minimum age 16 year old. 8. Junior Lifeguard Program - minimum age 14 years old.
