BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
JULY 19, 1994
The Schertz Board of Adjustment met on July 19, 1994 at 7:00
p.m. in the council Chambers of the Municipal Complex, 1400
Schertz Parkway, Schertz, Texas. The following members were
present: Chairman Hal Baldwin, presiding; Charles
McDonald; Joe Potempa; Barbara Stanhope; Mary Marsh and
Ken Greenwald. Staff present were City Manager Kerry Sweatt
and City Secretary June Krause.
#1 PUBLIC HEARING: The BOA to receive citizen
on a request by Christie Olde for a Special Exception
Zoning Ordinance for a 9' rear-yard setback to allow

Mr. Sweatt advised that notices were sent to property
owners within 300 feet of this property. Thirty-seven were
mailed, with eight responses. Six were in favor and two
against the request. This deals with the covering of an
existing patio slab. Planning and Zoning has recommended
approval. The applicant was present to answer questions.
Mrs. Olde said they wanted to cover the existing slab in
the back of their property with a nice shingled roof.
Mr. Baldwin asked if there was anyone present to support
this request.
Mr. George Mower said he was in favor of granting the
request.
There being no further citizen or BOA member participation,
the Chairman declared the public hearing closed at 7:02 p.m.
#2 Consider and take action on the above Special
Exception request by Christie Olde.
Mr. Greenwald moved to approve the request for a 9' rear
yard setback exception by Christi Olde. Mrs. Marsh
seconded the motion, which carried as follows:
AYES: Mr. McDonald, Mr. Potempa, Mrs. Stanhope, Mrs. Marsh
and Mr. Greenwald.
NAYS: None
#3 ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Potempa moved the BOA
adjourned at 7,03 p.m., with Mrs. _SjPnhope secondinQ
motion, which carried unanimOUSIY~ .
