BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING
JUNE 15, 1993
The Schertz Board of Adjustment convened Tuesday, June 15, 1993
at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex,
1400 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, Texas. The fOllowing members
were present: Mayor Earl W. Sawyer, presiding; Joe Potempa;
Hal Baldwin; Mary Marsh and Ken Greenwald. Staff present were
Asst. City Manager Steve Simonson and Deputy City Secretary
Norma Althouse.
Mayor Sawyer welcomed everyone to the meeting and asked if they
would stand and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance.
FOllowing the pledge, Mayor Sawyer acknowledged the presence of
Mr. Cavanaugh, his sons, and others studying for a Scout badge.
#1 PUBLIC HEARING: The purpose of the hearing was for
the BOA to receive citizen comments on a request by Dennis
Little, 1028 Gettysburg, for a Special Exception allowing him
to construct a carport within 6" of the property line.
Mr. Simonson advised that letters were mailed to thirty-six
property owners within three hundred feet of this property.
Two letters were returned, both in favor of the request.
Mayor Sawyer asked if there were any residents wishing
on this request and there were none. Mr. Sawyer then

#2 Consider and take action on the above request.
Mr. Greenwald moved to concur with the Planning and Zoning
recommendation and grant the Special Exception to the side yard
setback allowing Dennis Little to construct a carport within 6"
of the property line. Mrs. Marsh seconded the motion.
Mayor Sawyer then called for a vote on the motion and it
carried as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Potempa, Baldwin, Marsh and Greenwald.
NAYS: None.
