S BOA 04-21-1992 151 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MEETING APRIL 21. 1992 The Schertz Board of Adjustment convened on Tuesday. April 21. 1992 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex, 1400 Schertz Parkway. Schertz, Texas. The following members were present: Chairman Earl W. Sawyer. presiding; Joe Potempa; Hal Baldwin; Barbara Stanhope; Mary Marsh and Ken Greenwald. Before convening the Board of Adjustment hearing, Mayor Sawyer asked everyone to rise and join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Sawyer recognized a number of c~ndidates for Eagle Scouts from Troop 51, who had on the 16th of March provided 62 hours of community service to the City, under an Eagle Scout project. The eight Scouts painted 42 picnic tables, 12 trash can holders, nine bleachers and six dugouts. Mr. Sawyer mentioned that in 1957 one of our Councilmen, Mr. Joe Potempa, was awarded his Eagle Scout Certificate. He then presented framed Certificates of Appreciation to the following who participated: Cameron Stade, Mr. Clint Stade. Eric Silvers, Chris Whittington, Mr. Harvey Balcer, Aron Dammann, Mr. Danny Stiff and David Bortel. #1 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT: The City Council sitting as the Board of Adjustment according to Charter. held a hearing to receive citizen comments on a request by Jesse Hellums for a "Non-Conforming Use" permit for Oak View Mobile Home Park. Mr. Sawyer said that Mr. Hellums was present to answer any questions of the Board or citizens. Mr. Sweatt advised that this hearing was stimulated by a request by the owner of the property to continue the present non-conform use. In accordance with regulations, notices were mailed to two abutting property owners within 300 feet of this property. We received replies from both property owners with favorable comments. Mr. Sawyer then called for any comments from citizens or Councilmembers - there were none. #2 Consider and take action on the above request for a "Non-Conforming Use" permit. Mr. Potempa moved to approve the request for a continuation of the "Non-Conforming Use" permit for another three years. Mrs. Marsh seconded the motion, which carried as follows: 1l~0 l_U'.o;;...
