REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 21,' 1988
The Schertz City Council convened in Regular Session, Tuesday,
June 21, 1988, at 7:~8 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the
Municipal Complex, 1480 Schertz Parkway, Schertz~ Texas. The
following members were present: Mayor Earl W. Sawyer, presiding;
Earl P. Hartzog; Hal Baldwin; Ray Stanhope; Adolph Aguilar and
Ken Greenwald. Staff present were Interim City Manager Steve
Simonson and City Secretary June G. Krause.
#1 APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Mr. Baldwin moved to approve the
minutes of the Regular 'Meeting of June 7, 1988. Mr. Hartzog
seconded the motion, which carried with the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Hartzog, Baldwin, Stanhope and Greenwald.
ABSTAINING: Councilman Aguilar
NAYS: . None
# 2 BEARING OF RESIDENTS: None
#3 TRANSFER OF APPROPRIATIONS: Mayor Sawyer introduced a
list of transfer of appropr iations -for the current budget.
Mr. Greenwald moved to approve the Transfer of Appropriations as
presented by the Interim City Manager. Mr. Aguilar seconded the
motion, which carried with the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Hartzog, Baldwin, Stanhope, Aguilar and
Greenwald.
NAYS: None
#4 INTERIM CITY MANAGER: Mayor Sawyer introduced an item
to consider-a sa1ary'for the Interim City Manager, saying he felt
the figure considered at workshop was not quite in line with the
duties expected.
Mr. Aguilar moved to set the salary for the Interim City Manager
at $25~~, plus the other benefits involved with the position.
Mr. Stanhope seconded the motion, which carried as follows:
AYES: Councilmen Hartzog, Baldwin, Stanhope, Aguilar and
Greenwald.
NAYS: None
#5 CITY MANAGER'S REPORT: A. The Animal Control
personnel, in cooperation with the Human Society is sponsoring a
tranquilizer course on June 29th from 9:~~ a.m. to 6:~~ p.m.
Invitations were sent to practically everybody in South Texas.
This is an area where many are not trained.
B. The Policemen have requested to use some of the STEP funds to
buy additional weapons.
