ccss-07-10-1979 39 SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL JULY 10,1979 The Schertz City Council convened in Special Session, Tuesday, July 10, 1979 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 1400 Live Oak Road, with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Earl W. Sawyer, presiding; Richard L. Howe, Gail Hyatt, Walter F. Schneider, and Jack Stomackin. Absent: Mayor Robert C. Bueker. Staff present: City Manager Walter W. Hill, Jr. and City Secretary June G. Krause. #1 PUBLIC HEARING: Mayor Pro Tem opened the Public Hearing explaining it was a joint public hearing with the Planning and Zoning Commission to receive the views of the public concerning the proposed Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map. The following citizens addressed the Council glvlng their views concerning the proposed rezoning: Dick Mansfield, Tom Taylor, James Harden, Don Grainger, Dick Chambless, Elroy Klabunde, Roman Froboese, William Morris, Don Holman and Mack Ka rdys . Mr. Charles Sharp of the Planning and Zoning Commission asked to abstain from this public hearing due to conflict of interest. The above citizens expressed concern regarding the change to general business or commercial along FM 3009 MAYOR BUEKER ARRIVED AT 8:15 P.M. There was also concern regarding the property across from the Good Sheppard Church on Live Oak Road with their representatives requesting consideration of rezoning that portion office and professional rather than general business. After all who desired had an opportunity to speak, and there being no further questions of either the City Councilor the Planning and Zoning Commission, Mayor Bueker declared the Public Hearing closed at 8:20 P.M. #2 EXECUTIVE SESSION: Mayor Bueker then called an Executive Session of the Council under Article 6252-17, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes, as amended, Section 2 (f). #3 WORKSHOP: Mayor Bueker reconvened the Special Session of the City Council at 9:25 P.M. and immediately went into Workshop Session. #4 ADJOURNMENT: On a motion by Mrs. Hyatt, seconded by Mr. Schneider, and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 P.M.
