SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 22, 1979

The Schertz City Council convened in Special Session, Monday, January 22,
1979 at 7:00 P.M. in the Conference Room of the Municipal Complex, 1400
Live Oak Road with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Walter F.
Schneider, presiding; Richard L. Howe; Earl W. Sawyer and Earl Johnson.
Absent: Mayor Robert C. Bueker and Gail Hyatt. Staff present: Walter W.
Hill, Jr., City Manager; Hal Baldwin, Asst. City Manager and June G. Krause,
City Secretary.
Mayor Pro Tem Schneider received permission from the Council to deviate
from the agenda in order to discuss the election code with Mr. Garrison under
Workshop before taktng up item No. 1 and 2.
#1 RESOLUTION: Mr. Sawyer moved the Council authorize the Mayor to
sign a resolution naming the three persons voted on
to serve as members of the Board of Trustees that administer the TML Joint
Self-insurance Program. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion which carried with
the following votes:
AYES: Mr. Howe, Mr. Sawyer and Mr. Johnson
NAYS: None
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS, VOTING FOR THREE MEMBERS TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
TML JOINT SELF-INSURANCE PROGRAM.
2 (g) at 7:22 P.M.
#2 EXECUTIVE SESSION: Mayor Pro Tem Schneider called an executive
session under article 6252-17, V.T.C.S. Section

The meeting was reconvened at 7:44 P.M.
#3 ENGINEER: Mr. Sawyer moved that the City of Schertz consider hiring
an engineer for our projects that we undertake for the
City and that Mr. Hill be instructed to have a go at the local market and that
we continue with the same engineer until such time as necessary to look at
other engineers. Mr. Howe seconded the motion which carried with the following
vote:

AYES: Mr. Rowe, Mr. Sawyer and Mr. Johnson
NAYS: None
#4 WORKSHOP: Council continued in workshop session.
#5 ADJOURNMENT:
On a motion by Mr. Johnson, duly seconded and unanimously
carried, the meeting adjourned at 8:12 P.M.
