ccss-07-13-1978 112- There were approximately 24 people in attendance to give their opinions pro or con the rezoning questions. Pat Hand, Dian Bornham and Mrs. W. Schneider were opposed to rezoning A. The following citizens were opposed to the rezoning of item D: Joe Potempa, Eugene Biggs, May Warnotk, Don Lauer, Donald Myer, Floyd Landry and B. Strickland. J1. k~q~ ~ecretar~titY of Schertz * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL JULY 13, 1978 The Schertz City Council convened in Joint Session with the Schertz-Cibolo- Universal City Independent School District Board at 7:00 P.M. in the Confer- ence Room of the Municipal Building, 1400 Live Oak Road with the following Councilmembers present: Mayor Robert C. Bueker, Mayor Pro Tern Walter F. Schneider, Richard L. Howe, Earl W. Sawyer~ Gail Hyatt and Earl Johnson. Staff present: City Manager Walter W. Hill Jr., Asst. City Mgr. Hal Baldwin and City Secretary June G. Krause. #1 Discussion of sewer service to schools: The two groups discussed the ways to lower the sewer charges to the school campuses within the city, specifically to the football and baseball fields. Mr. Sawyer moved that if the School Board puts in separate meters for ground water use only, the City would eliminate the sewer charge to those meters provided the School Board would go along with beautifucation of school grounds. Mrs. Hyatt seconded the motion which carried with the following vote: J 3~ -1' AYES: Councilmembers Howe, Hyatt, Schneider, Sawyer and Johnson. NAYS: None #2 Discusison of combined tax office: After discussion of the combined tax office possibility, both groups agreed the two Tax Assessor/Collectors, City Manager and School Super- intendent should get together and work something up for further discussion at a later date. 173~, #3 Discussion of possible increased recreational activities: The discussion concerned the possible school use of the city swimming pool facilities if it had a removable cover; as well as combined use of all city and school facilities. It was agreed by all that the City Manager and Athletic Director get together to see what could be worked out.
