The Schertz City Council convened in Special Session, Wednesday, October 27,
1976 at 7:05 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 401 Oak Street with the following
members present: Mayor Robert C. Bueker, presiding; Mayor Pro-Tem Donald J.
Seeba Walter F. Schneider and Gail Hyatt. Absent: Richard L. Howe and
Ed L. 'Sharpe. Also present: City Manager Denny L. Arnold, Assistant City
Manager Harold D. Baldwin and City Secretary June G. Krause.
#1 Council discussion and consideration of site location for 50 Unit
Elderly Housing Project.
Mayor Bueker asked Mr. Les Bullock, of the Housing Authority, to explain
the findings of his Board concerning site location and the recommendations
of the Council to move the site location back from Live Oak Road 200 feet.
Mr. Bullock briefed the Council saying his Board felt even moving the project
back 150 feet would crowd the project too much. He had drawings of this
set back proposal which he indicated would eliminate some of the necessary
parking spaces as well as causing the back housing units to have to be fourplexes
instead of the more desirable duplexes. He explained that after careful con-
sideration~ his board voted to remain with the original plans to build on the
full lot.
Mayor Bueker said it seemed to him the Council had three options:
a. to move the project back from Live Oak Road.
b. to move it back with acquisition of additional land on the north side.
c. Go ahead with the original plans.
After further discussion, Mr. Seeba moved to go ahead with the original plans
for the 50 Unit Elderly Housing Project. Mrs. Hyatt seconded the motion which
carried with the following vote:

AYES: Mr. Seeba, Mr. Schneider, and Mrs. Hyatt.
NAYS: None
#2 Council consideration of purchase of land for Municipal Complex.
City staff had no new data to present on this subject at this time.
On a motion by Mrs. Hyatt, seconded by Mr. Schneider and carrying unani-
mously, the meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
