ccpz-joint meeting-01-26-1977 466 JOINT MEETING OF THE SCHERTZ CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION January 26, 1977 Ii The Schertz City Council convened in a joint meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday, January 26, 1977, at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, 401 Oak Street with the following members of the Council present: Mayor Robert C. Bueker, Richard L. Howe, Donald J. Seeba, Walter F. Schneider, and Gail Hyatt. Absent: Ed L. Sharpe. The following members of the Planning and Zoning Commission were present: Chairman Johnny Wise, Earl Sawyer, John Linebarger, Adolph Aguilar, and Ray Stanhope. Absent: Chuck Sharp. Also present were City Manager Denny L. Arnold, City Secretary June G. Krause and City staff member Joe Garza. Chairman Wise called the meeting to order and explained the purpose of the Joint Meeting as being to consider a request by the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the City of Schertz to rezone three parcels of land located on Live Oak Road from a R-2 Single Family District to O.P. Office and Professional District. There were three citizens present who are adjacent property owners to the land in question to be rezoned. Mr. Glenn Veazy, 1508 Live Oak Road, Dave Allen of 1300 Colony Drive and Dick Cherrine, 1216 Colony Drive, were all in favor of the rezoning and attended the meeting to see the plans of the proposed building. Mr. Arnold reported on a meeting he, Administrative Assistant Joe Garza and the bookkeeper, Carol Wallace attended in San Antonio on Janaury 25th concerning the EOA grant the City received to build a Municipal Complex on one of the parcels to be rezoned. Mr. Earl Sawyer moved the Planning & Zoning Commission recommend to the City Council the favorable rezoning of the 3 parcels of land on Live Oak Road from R-2 Single Family District to O.P. Office and Professional District. Mr. Aguilar seconded the motion which carried with an unanimous vote. Mrs. Hyatt moved to rezone the three parcels of land on Live Oak Road contain- ing 2, 3 and 5 acres respectively, from R-2 Single Family District to O.P. Office and Professional District. Mr. Schneider seconded the motion which carried with the following vote: AYES: Mr. Howe, Mr. Seeba, Mr. Schneider and Mrs. Hyatt.
