Complex Council Chambers Conference Room, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Building #4, Schertz, Texas. Brian James , Assistant City Manager; Brenda Dennis , City Secretary Call to order (Councilmember Mark Davis) Councilmember Mark Davis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Discussion and /or Action Items 1. Minutes - Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of the minutes of the March 12, 2020. Moved by Councilmember Scott Larson, seconded by Mayor Ralph Gutierrez to approve the minutes of the Regular meeting March 12, 2020. 2. Additional Main Street Zoning District. Councilmember Mark Davis recognized Assistant City Manager Brian James who provided a handout (attached to the minutes) discussing a request for a re -zone on Main. Street and discussing a potential Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances, Unified Development Code (UDC) Section 21.5.2 Zoning Districts established: limitations on R -6 and R -7, 21.5.5 statement of purpose and intent for residential districts, table 21.5.7.A, dimensional requirements residential zoning districts, 21.5.8 permitted use table, 21.10.4 schedule of off - street parking requirements providing a reversionary June 16, 2020 Main Street Minutes Page 1 clause; providing a repealing clause; providing a severability clause; providing a penalty clause; and providing an effective date. Mr. James answered question /concerns from the Committee and guests. The consensus from the committee is to move forward tweaking the existing Main Street Main Use District. 3. Art Installations - Update and discussion regarding art installation and selection. Councilmember Mark Davis recognized Assistant City Manager Brian James who presented nine possible locations for artwork in Schertz and actual artwork options. The committee's consensus was to move forward and come up with seven to nine concepts of artwork pieces that can be placed throughout the City of Schertz. 4. Parking - Review of parking options. Councilmember Mark Davis suggested to press forward with the parking needs on Main Street and bring their findings /suggestions to Council. 5. Grant Impact Assistant City Manager Brian James presented feedback and data on the impact of the Main Street Grant Program. 6. Projected Timelines - Update regarding list of tasks /projects with projected timelines. Assistant City Manager Brian James presented updates on tasks /projects with projected timelines in the city of Schertz.
