SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 27, 1975
The Schertz City Council met in joint Session with the Planning and Zoning
Commission, Wednesday August 27, 1975, 7:35 P.M., in the Council Chambers, 401
Oak Street, with the following members present: Mayor Robert C. Bueker, Walter
F. Schneider, Ed L. Sharpe and Gail Hyatt. City Manager Denny L. Arnold and City
Secretary June G. Krause. Absent Nell G. Funk and Donald J. Seeba. Planning and
Zoning Commission members present: Chairman Johnny Wise, presiding; Earl Sawyer,
Chuck Peifer, Ray Stanhope and Chuck Sharp. Absent: Sam Carey and Dick Howe.
Chairman Wise introduced the agenda item which was a request by Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph W. Swanson and Mr. and Mrs. David Cox to start a Day Care Center in Schertz.
After thorough discussion of this Specific Use Permit request as it relates to
the Zoning Ordinance, Chairman Wise called for a motion from the Planning and
Zoning Commission members.
Mr. Chuck Sharp ~oved the Planning & Zoning Commission accept the Swanson and
Cox petition, relative to their request for a Day Care Center in Schertz, for
a Public Hearing. Earl Sawyer seconded the motion which carried with the fol-
lowing vote:
AYES: Mr. Sharp, Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Peifer and Mr. Stanhope.
NAYS: None
At this time, Mayor Bueker called for a motion from the City Council. r,(

Mr. Sharpe moved the Council approve the petition to provide for a Public Hear- I~~
ing to consider the request made by Ralph Swanson, et. al., for a Specific Use
Permit to operate a Day Care Center. Mrs. Hyatt seconded the motion which
carried with the following vote:
AYES: Mr. Schneider, Mr. Sharpe and Mrs. Hyatt.
NAYS: None
There followed a general discussion concerning carports as they relate to
the Zoning Ordinance by both bodies and a short discussion of sewer tap
connections by the City Council.
On a motion duly made and seconded,the meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
